- ⅓ cup sugar
- ½ cup milk
Flavor & Topping Ingredients:
- ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup butterscotch chips
Instructions
- Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by lining it with foil, ensuring extra foil hangs over the sides. Arrange 40 club crackers across the bottom, trimming them to fit perfectly.
- Combine 1 cup butter, 2 cups graham cracker crumbs, 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup milk, and ⅓ cup sugar in a saucepan. Heat to a rolling boil at medium temperature for exactly 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Pour half of the caramel mixture carefully over the first cracker layer, spreading evenly with a spatula. Add another complete layer of 40 club crackers on top.
- Drizzle the remaining caramel mixture across the second cracker layer, ensuring complete and uniform coverage.
- Melt ⅔ cup peanut butter, ½ cup chocolate chips, and ½ cup butterscotch chips in a saucepan over low heat at 200°F, stirring until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Pour the melted chip mixture over the top cracker layer, spreading gently to create an even chocolate coating.
- Refrigerate the entire pan for 60 minutes until the bars are completely set and firm to the touch.
- Remove from refrigerator and lift the foil to extract the entire dessert. Slice into 24 individual bars using a sharp knife.
- Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
- Always use fresh club crackers for the best crunch and texture in your bars.
- Maintain constant stirring during the caramel sauce stage to prevent burning and ensure smooth consistency.
- Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter slowly and carefully to avoid scorching, using low heat and frequent stirring.
- For gluten-free version, swap club crackers with gluten-free crackers and use certified gluten-free chocolate chips.
