Description

Chewy Special K Bars bring pure comfort straight from Grandma’s kitchen, melting together marshmallows and chocolate for a quick sweet treat your whole family will devour. Crunchy cereal and gooey goodness make these bars an absolute crowd-pleaser that disappear faster than you can grab a plate.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Special K cereal
  • 1 cup peanut butter

Supporting Ingredients:

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Flavor Enhancers:

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Grab a large saucepan and pour 1 cup of light corn syrup and 1 cup of granulated sugar inside, preparing to create a sweet base.
  2. Heat the mixture at medium temperature, stirring occasionally until it reaches a rolling boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the stovetop and quickly add 1 cup of peanut butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until the texture becomes completely smooth.
  4. Toss in 1 cup of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they fully melt into the warm mixture.
  5. Transfer 3 cups of Special K cereal into a spacious mixing bowl, ready to receive the sticky coating.
  6. Pour the warm marshmallow mixture over the cereal and gently fold until every single cereal piece gets thoroughly covered.
  7. Take a 9×13 inch pan and lightly grease its surface to prevent sticking.
  8. Transfer the coated cereal mixture into the prepared pan, using a spatula to spread it evenly and create a uniform layer.
  9. Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 45-60 minutes until they become firm and set.
  10. Once completely cooled, slice into rectangular bars using a sharp knife, creating your desired serving size.

Notes

  • Use room temperature peanut butter for easier mixing and smoother texture.
  • Grease your pan and spatula with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • For a less sweet version, reduce the corn syrup slightly or swap some corn syrup with honey.
  • Experiment with different nut butters like almond or cashew butter for unique flavor variations.
