Description

Fanta Cake turns a classic soda into a delightful dessert that’ll have your friends asking for the recipe. Moist, citrusy, and surprisingly simple, this treat brings playful flavor to your baking repertoire.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 100 ml Fanta
  • 150 grams maida
  • 200 grams milkmaid

Leavening Agent:

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Wet Ingredients:

  • 60 milliliters oil
  • 34 drops vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Prepare your 8-inch round baking pan by coating it with butter and lining the bottom with parchment paper. Heat the oven to exactly 180°C (356°F).
  2. Sift 150 grams of maida (all-purpose flour) with 2 teaspoons of baking powder through a fine-mesh strainer twice to ensure smoothness.
  3. Grab a large mixing bowl and pour in 60 ml of vegetable oil, 3-4 drops of vanilla essence, and 200 grams of sweetened condensed milk. Whisk these ingredients together until they form a silky, uniform mixture.
  4. Alternate adding your sifted flour mixture and 100 ml of cold Fanta into the wet ingredients. Blend gently with a spatula, making sure no dry patches remain but avoiding overmixing.
  5. Transfer your cake batter carefully into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula to create a level surface.
  6. Slide the pan into the preheated oven and bake precisely for 25 minutes at 180°C. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick – it should come out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, gently turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the cake reaches room temperature, dust its surface with powdered sugar using a fine sieve for an elegant finish.

Notes

  • Swap out Fanta for another fizzy orange or lemon soda if needed for variety or personal preference.
  • Check cake doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center, which should come out clean after baking.
  • Room temperature ingredients help create a smoother, more evenly mixed cake batter.
  • For a lighter texture, avoid overmixing the batter and fold ingredients gently until just combined.
