- Prepare your 8-inch round baking pan by coating it with butter and lining the bottom with parchment paper. Heat the oven to exactly 180°C (356°F).
- Sift 150 grams of maida (all-purpose flour) with 2 teaspoons of baking powder through a fine-mesh strainer twice to ensure smoothness.
- Grab a large mixing bowl and pour in 60 ml of vegetable oil, 3-4 drops of vanilla essence, and 200 grams of sweetened condensed milk. Whisk these ingredients together until they form a silky, uniform mixture.
- Alternate adding your sifted flour mixture and 100 ml of cold Fanta into the wet ingredients. Blend gently with a spatula, making sure no dry patches remain but avoiding overmixing.
- Transfer your cake batter carefully into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula to create a level surface.
- Slide the pan into the preheated oven and bake precisely for 25 minutes at 180°C. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick – it should come out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, gently turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
