Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate sprinkles or chopped peanuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and coat a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Create the chocolate glaze by heating ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream until it almost boils.
  3. Pour the hot cream over ½ cup chocolate chips and let it sit for 60 seconds.
  4. Whisk the cream and chocolate until the mixture becomes completely smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine ¼ cup peanut butter, ¼ cup sugar, ⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon milk, ½ teaspoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon oil, and 1 large egg.
  6. Mix in 1 teaspoon baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt to the wet ingredients.
  7. Gently fold in 1 cup all-purpose flour until the batter is just combined.
  8. Transfer the batter to a large ziplock bag and snip off one corner.
  9. Pipe the batter evenly into the prepared donut pan.
  10. Bake for 8-12 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  11. Allow donuts to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.
  12. Dip each donut into the prepared chocolate glaze, coating the top.
  13. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts or chocolate sprinkles while the glaze is wet.
  14. Let the glazed donuts set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  15. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Check donut pan for even coating of nonstick spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for smoother batter and more consistent texture in your donuts.
  • Pipe batter carefully into donut molds, filling each about 2/3 full to allow proper rising without overflowing.
  • For gluten-free version, swap wheat flour with almond or gluten-free blend, which will create a slightly denser texture.
