Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 36 Oreo cookies
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 boxes 3.4 oz instant chocolate pudding
Supporting Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1½ cups whipped topping
Finishing Ingredients:
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- ¼ cup milk
- 2¾ cups cold milk
- Whipped topping
- Mini peanut butter cups (chopped)
- Peanut butter chips
- Chocolate syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Pulverize 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor until finely ground. Mix with ⅓ cup melted butter until completely combined.
- Press the cookie mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan. Place in freezer for 15 minutes at 0°F to set the crust completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat 8 oz cream cheese until smooth. Add 1 cup peanut butter, ¼ cup milk, and 1 cup powdered sugar. Mix until perfectly blended.
- Gently fold 1½ cups whipped topping into the peanut butter mixture until evenly incorporated. Spread this layer carefully over the frozen crust.
- Return the pan to the freezer for 20 minutes at 0°F to firm up the peanut butter layer.
- Whisk 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) of instant chocolate pudding mix with 2¾ cups cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened and smooth.
- Pour the chocolate pudding over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly to cover completely.
- Refrigerate for 10 minutes at 40°F to help the pudding set slightly.
- Top the dessert with remaining whipped topping, scattered chopped mini peanut butter cups, peanut butter chips, and drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.
- Refrigerate the entire dessert for 3-4 hours until thoroughly chilled and set before serving.
Notes
- Crush Oreos finely for a smooth, compact base that holds together well when serving.
- Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to blend seamlessly with peanut butter and create a silky texture.
- For a lighter version, swap full-fat ingredients with low-fat alternatives like reduced-fat cream cheese and sugar-free pudding mix.
- Chocolate peanut butter cups or chopped nuts make great alternative toppings if candy isn’t preferred.
